Cadent (ABN 31 611 749 262) is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information.
Information we collect
This website does not collect personal information directly from visitors. We use a self-hosted, privacy-respecting analytics system (Umami) running on our own infrastructure to understand aggregate traffic and which calls-to-action are used. It sets no cookies, stores no personal information, does not track you across other sites, and does not store IP addresses — visitors are counted using a salted hash that is rotated daily and cannot be reversed to an individual. Only aggregate page views and named events are recorded, and the data never leaves our Australian infrastructure (AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney). We run no advertising or third-party tracking scripts.
Separately, the site's content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) records standard access logs that may include IP addresses, request URLs, user-agent strings, and timestamps. These logs are retained for up to 90 days and used solely to operate, secure, and improve the site.
How we use information
We use access logs to investigate operational incidents, prevent abuse, and inform performance improvements. Where you contact us directly (for example, by emailing careers@cadent.au), we use that information only to respond to your enquiry.
Disclosure
We do not sell or trade personal information. Our analytics are self-hosted and not shared with any third-party analytics provider. We may disclose information to service providers who help us operate this site (such as Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site and our self-hosted analytics) under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, or where required by Australian law.
When you submit our contact form, we use hCaptcha (provided by Intuition Machines, Inc.) to protect against spam and abuse. hCaptcha may collect your IP address and limited browser and device information to tell humans from bots; that processing is governed by hCaptcha's own privacy policy. It is used only for spam protection on the form — not for advertising or tracking.
Storage and security
Personal information is stored in Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney) and protected by industry-standard security controls, including TLS in transit, server-side encryption at rest, and least-privilege access.
Access, correction, and complaints
You may request access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@cadent.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
